Specifications
Welded chain measures 1/32" larger in diameter than the trade size. For example 3/8" Proof Coil is manufactured from 13/32" diameter steel. This is shown in the tables of specifications under material size.

Where material size is not shown in any table, or expressed in wire diameters, it is understood that the chain is made of the exact size specified, with allowance for commercial mill tolerance.

Listed below for your reference are the standard link dimensions for our welded grades of Proof Coil, High Test, Transport and Alloy.

The mechanical properties shown on the chart apply only to the various chains in their standard finish and heat treat condition. Special treatments such as hot dip galvanizing or case hardening may reduce strengths by as much as 20%. Please contact us for revised recommendations when you desire such treatments for specific applications.
